Feature Friday: The Capital Grille
You may wonder why a blog that focuses on Real Estate and supporting local would feature a chain restaurant, but not only is The Capital Grille a small chain with only 58 locations across the entire country, it is unlike any other chain I've ever experienced. While most chains focus on quantity and consistency, The Capital Grille focuses on quality and experience, making it worthy of the #worththedrive seal of approval.
This last picture was provided by Heather Culbertson, Managing Partner at The Capital Grille. If you are lucky enough to dine at The Capital Grille, make sure to seek her out and mention this post. She will definitely make sure you have a wonderful experience!
Hubs was introduced to The Capital Grille by a client several years ago and fell in love with the food, the service and the atmosphere. He took me there for our next anniversary, and it quickly became our "special occasion" destination. Over the years, we have celebrated birthdays and anniversaries with The Capital Grille and they always find a way to make it special. They even send Hubs an email reminder to schedule our celebrations. We enjoy exceptional service, a card and confetti adorn the table and there's alwaysa little something extra, too. This most recent trip, though, was a treat beyond my expectations and most definitely worth the drive!
We participated in The Capital Grille's wine event, The Generous Pour and were served 7 different wines, paired with our delicious meal. In an attempt to not completely stuff ourselves we decided to forgoe an appetizer. The Capital Grille couldn't let us miss out on the appropriate pairing though, so we received 2 amuse bouches to pair with our next 2 wines. It was an opportunity for us to try something we wouldn't have otherwise and one of may opportunities The Capital Grille took to spoil us on our special occassion.
The Capital Grille steaks are dry aged in house before being expertly butchered, also in house. Sense a theme here? That's because The Capital Grille's philosophy is "exceptional ingredients, artfully prepared", meaning everything they serve is the best available and they believe it's worth the extra work to make sure the ingredients are expertly handled. For the record, I agree.
Although The Capital Grille is best known for their incredible steaks and seafood, the sides are also a marvel. Served for the table, sides can be mixed and matched so you truly receive the main course of your desire. Hubs and I prefer the brussel sprouts and truffel fries, but we've never had a side that wasn't delicious and the perfect accompaniment to any protein we chose.
And let's not forget dessert. When celebrating special occassions we have been known to receive a cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake celebration plate, but every dessert is an experience. From the sophisticated and labor intensive creme brulee to the simple but stunning seasonal berries with creme anglaise, each dessert is rich, delicious and the perfect finish to a delightful meal.
An upscale steakhouse not your style? The Capital Grille can accommodate that too. In the bar, The Capital Grille serves the most amazing burgers you've ever had, lobster rolls and salads topped with that famous steak. Plus all the wonderful desserts are available there too!
With the current need for social distancing, The Capital Grille has gotten really creative. Not only have they started offering takeout, they also now offer Grille boxes, with steaks and burgers seasoned and ready to grill at home and sides prepared to heat and serve. While Hubs and I love the experience of dining at The Capital Grille, it sure is nice to know we have options.
