Everything You Need to Know Before Moving to Batesville Indiana

Having grown up in Southeastern Indiana and lived here nearly all my life, I've always loved the city of City of Batesville.  I was lucky enough to move here last year from two towns over and my husband and I have loved exploring.
What You Need to Know About Food Before Moving to Batesville
There are tons of locally owned restaurants, pizza places, bars... I could go on, but you get the point.  Watch for my Feature Friday series for my take on all the local joints.
Fried chicken.  And I'm not talking KFC (although we have that too).  Make sure you check out all the local places before deciding which you think is best, and don't be afraid to go just across the county line for (the best) fried chicken.  Think of Oldenburg as Batesville, lite.  Just don't ever tell a Wagner's fan that a country club makes the best fried chicken!
Schmidt.  Cherry Thingalings.  Seriously, click the link, you won't be sorry.
And when you're feeling really adventurous, we're close enough to both Cincinnati and Indianapolis to have access to just about any cuisine you could want.
What You Need to Know About Driving Before Moving to Batesville
Parking on the street is a thing.  If you can't parallel, learn.  No really, just park in the Shopping Village.
Ohio drivers are the worst.  Being about halfway between Cincinnati and Indianapolis you'll be tempted to check out both.  And do!  Just don't go toward Cincinnati in inclement weather unless you're a very patient driver.
We don't have public transportation, but we're so close to the interstate and several state highways, you can get anywhere you want pretty timely.

Batesville To Go is coming!  It's like Uber Eats but local.  One more benefit of small town living!
What You Need to Know About Entertainment Before Moving to Batesville
We have festivals and events for everything.  Winter Festival, Cherry Thingaling Days, Summerfest, Batesville Bash, Applefest, Christmas tree lighting and parade, Festival of Lights and so much more!
Check out the farmer's market every Saturday from mid-May through mid-October.
We have six beautiful parks including Memorial Pool and a dog park as well as walking and biking trails.

There are tons of local shops you really need to check out.  Everything from antique shops to super modern and everything in between.  I'll be talking about our explorations in my Feature Friday series.
All You Really Need to Know Before Moving to Batesville
Our city has a rich history and for a town of only 6,500 residents, we have thriving industrial park, exceptional schools (both public and private) and tons to do and explore.  Batesville Indiana is the perfect balance of small town charm and amenities, and I'd love to help you find your new home here!
